Electrical Testing EICRs

Over time electrical installations deteriorate with age and can cause potential dangers. By law, electrical installations should be tested at regular intervals to ensure that they are safe for continued use.

Entire Services offers a fixed wiring testing services to ensure that you installation is all working correctly and is up to date with the current wiring regulations.  Circuit within the installation would be tested and documented along with any defects that may be found.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports, or “Periodic Inspections” can be requested for a number of reasons such as –

  • Routine Inspections

  • Buying / Selling the property

  • Change of occupancy

  • Insurance reasons

From the 1st July 2020, The Electrical Safety Standards In The Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 came in to force meaning, its now a requirement that all domestic rented properties with new tenancies have had an electrical safety check.

From April 2021, all existing tenancies will also need to hold a valid electrical safety certificate.

These checks need to be completed by a qualified and competent person, such as ourselves.


EICR Codes & Meanings

Observations are things which are wrong with your installation that need rectifying and they are coded based on their risk level.

Fixed Wire Testing ensures your electrical installations are safe and it is governed by the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671

After completing a fixed wire test we will supply you with an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). This report will indicate any problems or 'observations' which are coded according to their risk factor, using the codes C1, C2, C3 and FI.
